| Historical Information: |
Grimsby (Scartho Road) Cemetery was opened in
1889. During the 1939-1945 War boats of the Grimsby Fishing Fleet were
attacked at sea, and the town and port were bombed many times. In 1941
German aircraft dropped incendiary flares and incendiary bombs on the
Scartho Road Cemetery, but they were quickly extinguished and no
material damage was sustained. |
